Your plants, well looked after
Pot Pals remembers which plant needs water or feeding when, and tells you once a day. It does nothing beyond that — and that is rather the point.
What the app does for you
One glance is enough
The Today screen shows only what actually needs doing: overdue, due today, coming up. One tap marks it done.
Feeding and watering
Two separate tasks with their own rhythms. Watering is optional — if you only want to track fertilizer, simply leave it off.
Presets, not paperwork
Pick a plant preset when adding one, and the feeder type, location and starting interval come with it. Adjust anything later.
Weather, if you want it
For plants on a balcony or patio the app takes the forecast into account: rain postpones watering, heat gets flagged in time. Entirely optional.
Winter rest built in
Plants are not fed in winter. The app knows, and holds back on its own instead of nagging you through the dark months.
Photos and history
A picture for every plant and a record of its care — entries can be re-dated or corrected after the fact.
What the app does not do
- No account, no sign-up. Install it and start.
- No tracking. No analytics services, no crash reports.
- No server. Plants, history and photos live in your phone's private app storage. The app itself sends them nowhere — on Android system backup, see the privacy policy.
- Works offline. Only the optional weather feature needs a connection.
Exactly what gets transmitted when the weather feature is on is set out point by point in the privacy policy.
How to get it
Pot Pals is coming to Android shortly.
The app is in its final round of testing before release on the Google Play Store. Drop us a line if you would like to hear when it lands:
Pot Pals is free. This edition keeps up to ten plants at a time — in practice that covers a windowsill and a balcony comfortably.
Behind the app
Pot Pals is one person's spare-time project, born of a personal problem: too many plants, too many different rhythms, too little memory. There is no company, no investor money and no growth plan — which is why the app has no need to measure anyone.
